D&G RETAILER OF THE YEAR 2006                                                             

Leading breakdown plan provider, Domestic & General (D&G) wrote to over 200,000 customers of over 400 independent electrical retailers and asked them all about their showroom experiences or, for customers buying on-line, their opinions of the service offered. All the customers had recently made a purchase and were quizzed about the service they received and their buying motives. The survey is conducted as part of the Retailer of the Year (ROTY) Awards and is one of the largest independent surveys of shopping standards in the UK.

To encourage customers to complete the questionnaires all completed forms were entered in a prize draw. Two lucky winners had the cost of their purchase refunded by D&G.

“Our Retailer of the Year Awards give us the opportunity of recognising point-of-sale or online excellence by independent electrical retailers and, at the same time, provides a fascinating insight as to what customers really think about where they buy, the brands they choose and the staff who served them,” says Taj Mian, director of sales at D&G. “Overall the standards were very high and it is clear that customers really enjoy shopping at their local independent retailer.”

Customers were invited to grade their shopping experiences by awarding marks out of 5 in four different categories of service.

“Literally, hundreds of electrical retailers throughout the UK were involved in the Retailer of the Year,” continues Taj Mian. “Considering the volume of questionnaires that were mailed out, these results underline just how well customers are being served when they buy from an independent electrical retailer – whether it is online, visiting the local retailer, or a combination of both.”
 
The winners of Domestic & General’s Retailer of the Year 2006 were announced at a special prize-giving ceremony at The Connaught Hotel in London. PRC were awarded Retailer of the Year in the online category!

 

 

SAMSUNG DEALER OF THE YEAR 2010                                                             

On Wednesday 10th March 2010, Essex based retailer PRC was awarded Samsung Dealer of the Year 2010, considered to be one of the electrical retail industry’s most coveted and prestigious awards. The award was presented by Vice-President of Samsung UK, Andy Griffiths with Samsung UK General Manager, Colin Rodgers to PRC Directors. Also in attendance was David Song, Managing Director of Samsung UK.

IBA BEST LARGE INDEPENDENT CONSUMER ELECTRONICS RETAILER 2011                                                             

On Thursday 23rd June 2011, multi award winning Essex based retailer PRC was awarded Best Large Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer 2011, considered to be one of the electrical retail industry’s most coveted and prestigious awards. The award which was sponsored by Sony was presented by Sales Director of Sony UK, Chris Bowen to PRC Directors, John and George Digwa and General Manager Ash Sudra. Also in attendance was Steve Dowdle, former Managing Director of Sony UK.
